{my favorite use of hallway space}
Over time I've come to realize that my ALL-time favorite way to create interest in the hallway is the use of bookcases!! Pictures of hallways lined with books always catch my eye. A definite must for my dream home one day ...

...and this is the reason why I still buy actually books. It's just something about the touch and smell of a good book. This is so functional. My dream house would have a pretty looking library complete with ladder in my kitchen. Thanks for the inspiration!
