I know I am longing for one!
A tidbit: A burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner, and results from a tree undergoing some form of stress. And get this - insect infestation and certain types of mold infestation are the most common causes of this condition - but yet it is prized for its beauty and rarity! Talk about taking lemons and making lemonade ...

Have I got you convinced?? I adore the warmth and character these pieces bring!
Hope all of my US friends had a lovely President's Day yesterday :) Here in Canada there are some provinces that have created their own Stat holiday {such as Family Day in Ontario} - however those of us in BC were back to work as usual. To all my fellow Vancouverites - *exciting news* - we are getting a February Stat holiday for the first time starting next year! BC Family Day will definitely be something to look forward too!

My parents have a credenza very similar to the one in pic 7, they bought it in the 70's with a glass and chrome dining table, and it still looks amazing after all these years!
Crushing on all those pictures...stunning.
Thanks for sharing!
Very handsome indeed! :)
There's something about it that instantly elevates a space! Just beautiful
I always adore a mix of antiques in a room. I am loving all of these examples.
I have been searching for something burled for my apartment for a long time! Everything that I fall in love with seems to be a real antique and totally out of my price range. But its always nice to drool at :)
Those are such gorgeous pieces!
I got lost in the beauty of the burl pieces... and then I looked outside to see the rain :-( So happy to hear we'll be enjoying a Family Day this time next year!
I hope all is going well for you, Nancy. I think about you a lot as I write my posts, and marvel at how you manage to stay on top of all that you have on your plate!
Love this look Nancy! Love the fresh look of the burled wood against a white backdrop! Stunning.
I LOVE burled walnut! I have an armoire that I will never part with!
That burled walnut island is insanely beautiful! Yes, you've convinced me!
Hey Nancy, it's funny you mentioned family day because while I was in Calgary, they actually were celebrating family day on Monday. Coolio! These burled walnut pieces remind me of the 50's a little. I just can't get over that kitchen!!!!!
This is so handsomely beautiful!
Beautiful interiors.
Love that Jonathan Adler desk!
It certainly will! That is great news!
And the stunning closet in the very last picture is amazing... the mirror, paneling, everything :)
Oh my goodness now I want something burled in my house so gorgeous!
That OKL desk is insane!
And hey, that's the top of my dresser! How fun to see it here!!!
