I just adore the effect of this type of delicate molding detail. Sarah Richardson called it 'wedding cake' plaster fretwork on her show, but whatever you call it, it's stunning. I'd love to have the chance to do this in a room one day!

I adore this look. I tried to find something similiar for my living room to no avail. I would like to hang a chandelier in my living room and my thinking is that the wiring can hide in the fretwork.. So it would provide form and function. =)

For our new house we could finally afford to do it right and did some intersting ceiling details in our living room and our family room. I think most people underestimate how much of a difference having a plain ceiling vs. a decorative ceiling can make. Love these examples and enjoy your blog.

I have done so many searches online trying to figure out how to buy the materials for this. I've tried all sorts of keywords, to no avail. Anyone know where you actually get the materials? Do they have to be custom-made? What kind of craftsperson makes them? Who did them on Sarah's show?
