I love this look! I'd love to find a vintage piece, but if I don't, there is a lovely and budget-friendly version from Ikea!
Any one have a secretary desk in their own home?

Love secrétaires! I dream of having one with a sliding cover made of cherry root wood. My father has one and I've always loved that furniture in his office. By now I think I'll follow your idea, haha. XoXo :) Maca
Aren't those fabulous! They are so "old school" and elegant. I remember having one as a kid and just loved to put all my stationary, pencils, etc. in the little compartments. I would spend hours coloring, writing etc. It wasn't as half as beautiful as these ones but I vividly remember it.
All beautiful. We bought one at auction last year and cannot wait to use it, its a beauty! They add a sense of elegance and give great height and drama to a space...love the many gorgeous examples you chose!
How divine Nancy! I think I like the 1st and 5th most :)

I love the character and beauty of a secretary desk. I wrote a design story back in August called 'Love Letters and Writing Desks' that you might enjoy.
Thanks for sharing these gorgeous examples, Nancy!

I am loving that first one with those delicate windows. These are beautiful! I have an antique one from Scott's here in Atlanta (they are here once a month so Sundays are haggle days) but my husband has taken it over with his "things".
Beautiful pieces, there is always some note of nostalgy when I look at them!:)

Ever since I saw Eddie Ross' Secretary transformation, I have been on the lookout for one! No luck yet, but I sure do hope to own one someday. Thanks for all the eye candy

What lovely secretaires and beautiful images! I would love one in my kitchen to store cookbooks and use for all the daily tasks needed to run a family. Thanks for sharing, Cynthia
I wish I had one of these. I remember when Eddie did the makeover on the one you featured of his. That one is my favorite!
I love those too! Great style + space saver! Ikea would be a good option...maybe paint it!

Love the pictures. I have been looking for one for a while, but nothing yet. Great inspiration.
oh, i have long loved a good secretary. my grandmother has one that is just beautiful - i would write letters there as a kid, just feeling oh so fancy. i suppose the association with them is what makes them so charming to me....some gorgeous examples here! ox
I want one too! My mom has a beautiful one and I asked her if I could have it and she said "when I die", thanks mom! I thought a small one would look perfect in the corner of our living room.
Love these too, so functional and then you can close them up to hide your mess!
Thanks for your comment on my evergreen blog post. So much inspiration and so little time!
I've always loved these. They add such a touch of elegance to a room :)
I don't have one, but now I want one!
Oh all the possibilities with that piece!
I am in love with the black and red one. You might find one on Craigs list. Good luck!
Yup! need one of these for sure :) especially in my COZY townhouse! LOVE IT!
wow those are all so stunning! They are all so antique and vintage..amazing!
The second one is really so gorgeous. I am using that humble IKEA option for 6 months now and mounting was a bit tricky but am very happy with the outcome : )
