Velvet furniture is hot hot hot! I love this fabric and am wishing for a gorgeous velvet sofa of my own :) The texture and natural wear you would get from a stunning piece like these ones would add dimension and glamour to any space!
How cozy and inviting do these sofas look??
Any one have a velvet sofa in their home? I'd love to hear!

so luxe and lovely...i want it too
I loooooooove velvet. ANYTHING in velvet makes me a happy girl. I just wish it wasn't a pet hair magnet. I can dream.
They certainly add a touch of Hollywood glam to a room!
I would love to have one but my white dog ruined those plans!
I hope this trend sticks around for a long, long time!
I recently did a post on this - I love them!!!! & now with your psost I have even more inspiration in my files. x x
Lovely images especially the last one - has been in my inspiration file forever!
I'm such a sucker for tufting, velvet, big comfy couches, etc....so that first image is my dream sofa! Thanks for sharing - printing that image off for future :)
You're right, I've been swooning over them myself. Like Jenna said..tufted, velvet, and comfy...ahhhh, absolutely dreamy :)
I really wanted a velvet sofa sooooo bad! But when I tried one out it felt really hot which is not practical for us in the south. Too bad! I will settle for some velvet pillows instead!
OMG, I am still lusting over the medium toned grey one at Jonathan adler. The velvet is a bit "worn" which is so perfect. On a modern tufted sofa. I WANT IT BAD!

love velvet sofas in a rustic setting...it adds the perfect touch of glam to an otherwise austere look. those sofas above are all perfect!
I am currently searching for the perfect velvet sofa for my house!!
Check out my blog http://536designs.blogspot.com
I found a gorgeous one at Neiman's!!
Thanks for sharing! xo Crystal
My very first sofa was almost identical to the first chesterfield but in a moss green color. I agree I have been seeing more and more velvet in the design world, Kathysue
I may have to disagree with the use of the word "trend" when it comes to velvet sofas my friend :)! Velvets have been used for eons on upholstery and I think they look just as good today! I'm more in the cotton velvet camp myself...not so much a sheen girl, I guess I'm more casual than glam. Either way, I'm a velvet fan! I have a linen toned cotton velvet sofa in the family room, and my office I have a charcoal gray one. Love em both! Best part? They clean amazingly with two little kids around, totally indestructable, even the light coloured one.
Great post as always N!

Love velvet sofas. Not sure they would work well with my dog who likes to wipe his face on my leather sofa daily! But one day, I will get a tufted charcoal grey sofa to lounge and curl up on, how dreamy!
Grey velvet is my ultimate favourite! Am awaiting delivery of a new chaise that we had upholstered in a gold velvet. The shape is similar to the second image you posted with nailhead trim, but obviously no back.
Oh, Nancy! I have peacock blue velvet sitting her to recover a couple of chairs. Velvet is so my favorite! My very first blog post was on velvet. These are great images!
I would totally get one... but I doubt it'd last very long with my two bunnies jumping around.. (:3 I guess the buns win this one!
not yet but I'd kill for that gray velvet one!!
i almost opted for velvet on my new sofa....but it turns out the custom fabric would take at least 10 weeks...so i just went with the basketweave fabric. :)))

Ooo!! I Do! I Do!! I have had my black velvet sofa for almost 4 years now and I never tired of looking at it. It's the little black dress for my home. Great post.Chic Rooms
No, but I would if I could!
I don't have one now but one is in my future! It is my #1 (and non-negotiable :)) choice for our future living room sofa when we move back to the US and I can't wait! They look so elegant and yet also so cozy for family downtime...perfection. Great post!

Yes, I am a velvet lover too and so glad to find this post. Our Istanbul flat is full of velvet covered stuff in my favourite colors, grey, purple, lilac...
If you want to see how an Istanbul flat looks like or some more velvet inspiration

Apart from ottoman pouf ( which is also a big storage box and coffee table ) and the floor cushions, all is old furniture painted and reupholstered.
It looks amazing! The time you spent painting it was totally worth it. The color is great. I don't know how you were able to let go of that piece, you must have a strong will! It would look great in any room. Let us know when it gets sold! Thanks
