Don't know if you can tell in the photos but the artwork above the sofa is illuminated from behind! How neat!! {And it was the homeowners photography that was used, a nice personal touch}.
I loved all of the mid-century pieces they re-upholstered, perfect for this contemporary space.
How about that zebra rug? Fabulous or fabulous?? It's from West Elm, and Sarah and Tommy had 2 rugs sewn together width wise to create a rug large enough for the space. Fantastic trick!
Sarah placed a built in banquette in the dining area which saved a lot of room in a very small space. And lastly, the touches of gold were right up my alley, I fell for the light fixture, and then Sarah mentioned it was made in Egypt and I wanted it so bad!! Lovely and exotic.
Hope you enjoyed the episode as much as I did!

I didn't watch Sarah yesterday, sniff....I was begged to come to work and then in the evening D had a basketball game. Sigh.. I need a PVR!
Love the room though. Love the modern touches to the mid-century furniture! Love how Sarah and Tommy have such a versatile approach to decorating.
I also want to say how much I love your posts. They are so beautifully and tastefully put together. Wish I had half the style as you!
I look forward to your Sarah 101 postings each time since we don't get Sarah down this way.

I just love this! I've been obsessing over banquets lately and this one is amazing. the mid century furniture is too good!
I am so glad my friends in Canada are posting on Sarahs new show. I so wish I could see it in person!!! She is amazing and I love her work. This is no exception to her brillance. Thanks Nancy for this post!! I so look forward to these, KS
it was so nice to see a "Classic Sarah" room again!
I really liked this episode as well- loved all the mid-century furniture and I thought the banquet was a brilliant use of space in the dining area. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the lightbox art- I just didn't think it worked in that space. I loved loved that pendant light though- so fab!
That light fixture is absolutely stunning
Gorgeous space! The zebra rug caught my eye immediately, what a great idea to sow two together! I love Sarah's work. I am not a fan of the light box though, it looks too much like a TV to me =) The pendant light is out of this world, go Egypt!!

Wasn't one of my favourite Sarah rooms but I loved the drapery fabric and the brass pendant. They are from a company called SNOB in Toronto and I mentioned them in my IDS post - so pretty!
great space, I am loving the new show!!
So sweet contemporary design.
I just enjoyed your post. After watching this design most people would like to design their home interior in this way.
