Hello All! My friend Nancy is off globetrotting, and I've been left to hold the Marcus Design fort. A tough job, but somebody's gotta do it! I'm thrilled to be able to lend a hand over at Marcus Design while Nancy is taking a {much deserved} break. I love visiting Nancy's blog because she is a RESEARCHER! Yup, her scientific background can't help but peek through, and she always writes fabulous posts about the history of certain design details, styles, or patterns. Love it.
Working Girl
Nancy shared her "dream office" awhile back with us readers, so today I thought I'd take a turn and show you what's happening over at the Kerrisdale Design Inc office. Now, you'd think an interior designer would/should have the BEST office, right? WRONG. I believe there is a proverb about the Shoemaker's children going shoeless? Very apt.My office has been bare & ugly for a whole year since we've moved in. Honestly, I'm embarrassed to even show the before picture! That, my friends, will soon be a thing of the past.

The Pretty
When coming up with a scheme for the office, I of course had fun hunting for inspiration images of spaces that I'd LOVE to work in. Here are a few that had the mood & feel I wanted ~

The Scheme
And here is the moodboard I've been working from...
Thanks Nancy for having me, hope you're having a fabulous time in Egypt!

Karla! I love your office design. After seeing you work your magic in the condo spread, it will be a treat to see this office!
Nancy, hope you are having a smashing time!
Thanks for sharing your inspiration pictures and mood board. It's always interesting to see the design process from beginning to end -- so I'm expecting to see your office Before pics, as well as you're sure-to-be awesome After pics!! :-)

Wow it looks like it will be amazing. I know what you mean about the shoemaker's children going shoeless...I need some design help with my own place!
Waiting is the bane of my life, too! I turn to chocolate & Ryan Reynolds movies in the interim. Lovely mood board!
I'm expecting a seriously stunning office with a mood board like that! Can't wait to see the final result!
clever!!
It's simply classy-contemporary - A clever use of space. A room full of meeting rooms! Washington DC-influenced and this entices me to dream more and more. Great fine linings!
Your office is extremely gorgeous! I love its simplicity. The wall color and the accents make you more relaxed even when you're working all day long. In our workplace in Charlotte, meeting rooms have the most beautiful and relaxing interiors. I don't know why, but I guess it was made that way so that we won't be pressured whenever our boss calls up for a meeting.
